Foot itch, also known as athlete’s foot, is a skin infection caused by fungi. Fungi are one type of pathogenic fungi that can infect the skin either directly or indirectly and cause the disease. The main symptoms include red spots, peeling, cracks, blisters, etc., accompanied by varying degrees of itching. A skin sample test for fungi can help with a clear diagnosis. In general, antifungal treatment lasts about two weeks. It is recommended to soak the foot in a solution of potassium permanganate for 15 minutes per day for five consecutive days, and use a cream ointment called ‘Cophenythion Cream’ twice a day for two continuous weeks. For severe cases, oral Itraconazole capsules can be taken twice a day, once with two tablets.
