Why does athlete’s foot occur?

Athlete’s foot, also known as tinea pedis, is caused by a fungal infection. The incidence of athlete’s foot is relatively high worldwide. It is contagious and can be contracted through sharing others’ shoes, using the same bath or foot tubs as others in daily life. People who engage in heavy labor and physical activities, sweating profusely, often create a moist and humid environment for fungi to thrive. Additionally, people who have athlete’s foot may not take it seriously, delay treatment, or receive incomplete treatment, thus becoming a source of infection. If one does not pay attention in daily life, it can spread to more intimate individuals, even an entire family.
