How to Treat Athletes’ Foot and What Medicine to Use

Athletes’ foot, also known as tinea pedis, is a superficial fungal infection. In clinical practice, it can be divided into trench foot, moccasin-type, and scaly type. To effectively treat athletes’ foot, one must wait for all symptoms to subside before continuing to apply medication for two weeks, while avoiding wearing shoes or socks during the period of illness. For treatment, oral administration of Itraconazole capsules (0.2g per day, once a day, for two weeks) is recommended. At the same time, two types of antifungal topical medications should be used, such as Terbinafine hydrogel and Miconazole cream, alternating treatment, and continuing application for two weeks after symptoms have completely resolved.
